Creamy Cheese Grits

This is the grits recipe for people who don't like grits. They're creamy, cheesy, and loaded with flavor. Serve them for breakfast, lunch or a side at dinner. They'll soon become a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon tabasco
  • 1 cup grits not instant
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat milk, butter, and salt to almost boiling. When small bubbles form on the side of the pan, turn the heat down.

  2. Stir in white pepper, tabasco, and grits.

  3. Continue to stir as grits simmer.

  4. After the grits have absorbed the liquid, about 25 minutes, stir in the cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese.

  5. Stir until the cream cheese and cheddar are completely melted and combined.
